Bust out your sneaks, warm up your quads, and get ready for the world’s largest running party, Global Running Day.
Although the event is just three years old, it’s already a pretty big deal. More than 1.2 million people in 195 countries pledged to run million miles on Global Running.
“Running is such an accessible activity that people of all backgrounds and abilities can take part in,” Piyush Sachdeva, president and CEO of India Road Runners, tells LTW. “All they need is a pair of shoes and they’re good to go.”
The goal of Global Running Day, explains Piyush, is simple: for people around the world to celebrate the sport. “It’s a way for runners of all ages and abilities to share their passion for running and inspire others to get moving,” he adds
